Project Background
Period shaming is an underlying issue in Taiwan. 33% of our survey recipients thought it was awkward to buy sanitary pads in public, even if they were buying them from a vending machine outside the toilet. In fact, Taiwanese people call a period by its nickname—“auntie”—showing that period stigma still prevails in modern society. To address the issue of period shaming, we created a virtual museum, “Y Art Museum,” where artworks and related interactive installations are welcome to be submitted by everyone who relates.
